  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Proficiency in shop mathematics and be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to lift over 60 pounds
  • Basic computer skills

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN / CAD DRAFTER

Each day is different at WMF. We manufacture a variety of different parts and complete products for our diverse customer base throughout North America. Due to strong and consistent growth, we are adding a full time position of a Mechanical Engineering Technician / CAD Drafter to our Engineering Department.

Essential Duties:

  • Create detailed part and assembly shop drawings using Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Create routers and work instructions using MieTrak ERP system.

Washington Metal Fabricators welcomes Chuck Bogert to our team. Chuck has worked in the metal distribution and fabrication industry for over 25 years. We know these years of experience will be beneficial to our organization.

Chuck is joining WMF as a project manager. He will be helping out in multiple departments including purchasing, sales and estimating, and production coordination.

COMING SOON: BUILDING 6

Land is being cleared for WMF's newest building addition on Meyer Drive in Washington, MO. This 30,000 sq. foot building will house our expanding machining operations. The initial estimated completion is 2nd Quarter, 2022.

ROBOTS JOIN WMF

Washington Metal Fabricators has purchased 3 new collaborative robotic welders since the beginning of 2021 with plans to add more. These “cobots” are set up for simple welds on jobs that are repeatable. This allows our welding personnel to use their skills on more complex welding jobs. Each job considered for the cobots is evaluated by a team of experts.

The addition of cobots won’t stop there, WMF has future plans to include cobots in other areas of the manufacturing process such as machine tending and tapping.
